Living on A Luxury Cruiser
Why not extend you luxury cruise getaway to an all year round experience? You can now live on a luxury cruise ship as Crystal Cruises sell luxury homes on their boats.
The permanent luxury suites from Crystal Cruises offer all the comforts of a second home, but with unbeatable ocean views for guests to wake up to. There will be 48 residences on each ship, with some suites offering 4,000 square feet of living space.
The boat is usually occupied by 150 to 200 residents or guests at one time, with the average owner spending three to six months on board over the course of a year.
“We continue to listen to what our guests and the luxury traveller want, and river cruises are what they’ve been telling us they want for some time – it’s a natural extension of the exceptional ocean cruise Crystal has offered for the past 25 years,” says Crystal President and CEO Edie Rodriguez.
However, if you are interested in creating a home on one of these breath taking ships, the company is establishing 48 suites on three ships, which will be setting sail in 2018. Located on the top deck, the unique homes will include the use of a private restaurant and reception facilities.
Residents will be able to dine like kings with in house, Michelin-starred dining, created by celebrity chefs. Once full, why not step aboard a submarine or helicopter to enjoy the scenery?
And if that wasn’t enough, residents can also enjoy the only full-size tennis court at sea, a 7,000-square foot spa and fitness centre, and swimming pools, and sample 12,000 bottles of wine with advice from an on-board sommelier. The deck also boasts six restaurants, multiple bars, a tea room, golf simulator, library and cinema.
At 644ft, the studio flats sell for more than £660,000 and the top suites cost up to £8.5million. There is so much demand for each exclusive piece of real estate that there is a waiting list for certain room sizes, including three-bedroom flats and a six-bedroom penthouse suite that can accommodate up to 12 people.
