Men’s Fashion Rises in the East

FORTUNA Tokyo will debut their wares at Hong Kong Fashion Week for Spring/Summer 2015 as part of ‘The Cool Japan Consortium’, an initive to expose Chinese and Hong Kong customers to Japanese brands.

The group’s global growth activities are being partially subsidized by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan under the government’s policy for promoting Japanese traditional crafts to overseas markets, which they term “Cool Japan Initiatives”.

The men’s luxury brand, which specialises in bespoke ties, will join forces with DRESSCAMP, the brand name for AT ONE’S clothing, Takaoka Lacquer Ware, which specialises in traditionally painted lacquer trinkets and OTO, the representative of Kyoto Nishijin weaving group.

FORTUNA, named after the Roman goddess of luck, create stunning men’s neckties using traditional Japanese methods which were usually used to make fine kimonos.

The group of firms will start test marketing activities from July 6, 2015 in Hong Kong, with two of the brands, FORTUNA Tokyo and Takaoka Lacquer Ware participating in Hong Kong Fashion Week for Spring/Summer with all the brands of the consortium expected to exhibit in Hong Kong Fashion Week for Fall/Winter.

These appearances will allow the brands to showcase their high quality, traditional Japanese products with a view to setting up sales in select department stores and independent shops in Hong Kong, exposing a new market to these stunning, luxury items.
