Turkish Delights
Lokum Istanbul, a bespoke luxury lifestyle store based in London ‘aims to introduce the traditions of Ottoman’ into our hectic British lives.
From humble beginnings as the brainchild of a traveller captivated by the heady sensations offered by time spent in Turkey, Lokum Istanbul has blossomed into a stunning boutique store situated in London’s prestigious Walton Street and a unique lifestyle brand.
The brand was created by Zeynep C. Keyman, who was once compared to the iconic late Carolyn Bessette Kennedy by American Vogue because of her stunning, individual style. Keyman saw a gap in the luxury lifestyle market for a Turkish brand which combined our modern lifestyles with an Ottoman approach to design and luxury.
The interior of the brand’s flagship Walton Street store, designed by the glamorous Anouska Hempel, boasts stunning chandeliers, mood lighting and luxurious toile de Jouy wallpaper. The store is also brimming with the sumptuous smells of the flavourful products sold in the shop and has a calming effect which contrasts perfectly with the rushed pace of London’s streets.
The products ‘aim to appeal to the five senses’ and range from distinctive and refreshing fragrances to dainty individual candles, with exotic gift boxes and stunning, individual stationary also available. The store’s ‘Bath and Body’ section includes delightfully fragrant liquid hand soaps and balms, refreshing soap bars and a decedent body scrub. The firm also supplies sumptuous chocolate dipped Turkish Delights and almond paste quirkily made into the shape of a fez hat.
Even the packaging is bespoke, with the products showcased in pompom trimmed, Turkish art-inspired patterned boxes making Lokum Istanbul the perfect place for gifts, or for simply treating yourself!
