A traditional British pub located in Highclere, the Yew Tree Inn offers eight cosy, cottagestyle rooms for guests to rest in, in the heart of the English countryside. Recently, LUXlife were welcomed into the humble inn where we discovered more about the charming décor, tried the delicious food and soaked up the idyllic location.
A 17th century country pub, with rooms and excellent dining situated in the lovely English countryside, moments from Highclere Castle, the Yew Tree Inn over the years has built a respectable reputation within the location community, as well as further afield, for their exceptionally high standard of delicious food and outstanding service.
Speaking of the heavenly dishes the Yew Tree Inn has to serve, the fine establishment have built a reputation for themselves as serving an outstanding food – which can be supported by their recent accolade additions of two AA Rosettes. With a wonderful kitchen team who create delightful dishes, which have been crafted from high-quality, locally sourced ingredients. Each of the chefs at the Yew Tree Inn draw their inspiration for the innovative cuisines that feature on the menu from the beautiful English countryside which surrounds the quaint pub. As such, guests should expect to feast upon fresh fish and game which has been plucked straight from the surrounding forests and rivers located nearby.
Nestled in the English countryside, the Yew Tree Inn offers eight cosy, cottage-style rooms for guests to rest in. Named after a variety of trees which can be found within the surrounding forests and woodlands of the pub, each one of the rooms have been designed with both comfort and relaxation for guests in mind.
All of the rooms are doubles, each being handsomely decorated with William Morris printed wallpaper, timber beams and warm tartan blankets, creating that quintessential country cottage feel.
As you ascend upon the winding staircase with a rope banister, you will be greeted with an eclectic styled lounge area where you sit back, relax and enjoy a bit of peace and quiet. Alternatively, you can head to the bar outside, with plenty of seating located in the gardens to
If you want to go and explore the surrounding areas, aside from the stunning countryside views, you can go visit the Sandam Memorial Chapel, home to some of the most truly striking murals, which took a staggering six years to create. In addition to this, you can also go and visit Highclere Castle, known as being the site for the popular television show Downton Abbey.
Overall, with plenty of mouth-watering foods and stunning views to choose from, the Yew Tree Inn, our stay at the fine establishment was nothing short of a truly wonderful experience. From families to couples and individuals, even canine friends are welcomed with open arms. From our experience it is clear that any guest, no matter how discerning, will come away feeling like all is right with the world.
