Following the birth of her daughter in 2013 Debbie noticed that the sorts of toys she had precious memories of from her own childhood were nowhere to be found in today’s market. Debbie knew that if she felt this way, she was sure a whole generation of her fellow parents did too. As a child, Debbie looked up to her father who had a love for wood and craftsmanship. The small English village where she grew up was also home to a heritage centre, which housed beautiful wooden dollhouses handcrafted by the region’s artisans and sold to locals and visitors alike and it was ultimately this combination that inspired Debbie’s passion for wooden and traditional toys, as well as a respect for the art of crafting something by hand and having it loved and appreciated by every member of a family.
Today, operating out of Australia where Debbie now lives with her husband and daughter, Blossom Tree Toys aims to stock products that are kind to the planet and have been made using eco-friendly products from sustainable forestry or from recycled or organic materials.
