To start, Tracy offers more insight into some of the firm’s specialist offerings and its client base. “As wedding planning experts, we can assist clients with the theme of the wedding, inspection of the venue, catering, flower designs, photography, selection of the wedding rings and more. Having previously managed one of the busiest hotels in Cheshire for wedding receptions (looking after 130 of them), I know what makes the perfect wedding day. To provide a client-centric service, we solely focus on one wedding per day, allowing us to dedicate all our time to each couple.” Weddings today are no longer just a one- day event, and as Tracy goes on to explain, couples now have a lot more to consider when planning their special day. “Most weddings now are three day events, so naturally there is a lot more planning involved in the coordination of guests, transport & accommodation. There is also a lot more dietary requirements now, so we have to work closely with the venues and caterers to ensure everything is adhered to. However, when we recruit new talent, I always check to see if candidates have operational experience in the hospitality industry (not just volunteering at a festival). Naturally, this shows that they are willing to get experience in all parts of our role as event managers and planners.” In the wedding industry creativity is a skill which most companies adhere to, whether they are planners, photographers or caterers, and as Tracy goes on to explain, it is something the firm’s staff pride themselves on. “We have a positive work culture here where we encourage our staff to be creative at all times. Certainly, in some of the weddings we have covered, clients have commented on our ability to cover every small detail. During my time I have found giving people the opportunity to be creative can raise morale, but more importantly increase productivity. In addition to this, in the workplace we have dress codes, employee engagement and core values so we know our staff are all working hard to achieve the same goal.” Finally, Tracy comments on the future of the business and the plans in place for 2020 and beyond. “Plans have changed dramatically now re the coronavirus for all weddings and events. We have had to transfer our clients weddings to later in the year and over to 2021 re the uncertainty of group gatherings in the current climate. We are having to re think smaller more exclusive weddings and parties with social distancing, hygiene gel in all rooms /for each person plus masks available. It’s huge changes for our industry but we are working together with our suppliers and clients to make things happen.
