With expansive grounds, historically prestigious venues, and professionals at the tops of their fields in its team, its clients can enjoy the enchanting feel it brings to their special day. The King’s School Best Historic Wedding Venue - South East England Mar21255 ‘Location is the heart of any celebration’ is one of The King’s School’s mottos when it comes to hosting events. Nestled in the heart of Canterbury and with a variety of different packages that promise to be able to suit all manner of couples and wedding events, The King’s School offers a diversity of venues and services that can be tailored appropriately. This is all part of its dedication to being the best, bringing exemplary service to an already incredible setting. As a place of rich history, it is the UK’s oldest school, boasting a range of different buildings that each are fit to purpose and well-maintained to retain their grandeur. Its locations include the heightened drama of the 1900s Malthouse, a stunning conversion of a latter Victorian building equipped with a 334-seat theatre, dance studios, professional kitchen, dining area, and bar. The Malthouse also comes with the option of a fully staffed experience provided by the School, including a Box Office, catering, and front of house service. All such services have been lauded as exemplary by previous satisfied clientele, and it can adapt itself based on client requirements, bringing the bespoke feel back to venue bookings. It also offers bookings within the Refectory that was part of Henry the 8th’s Palace. This magnificent building made notable by its glorious architecture, including tower-like structures and ornately designed stonework, is sure to make any wedding a memorable one. The topiary bushes and perfectly manicured trees out front give this ancient structure a new lease of life, tempered by the inherent quiet dignity of such a hall. Adjoining what remains of St. Augustine’s Abbey and standing tall against the test of time, guests are welcomed through the impressive Fyndon Gate. This element of the building was rebuilt during the 14th century, leading wedding parties and events attendees elegantly through to the dovecote lawn and college quadrangle. St. Augustine’s houses a 90-seat dining hall that hearkens back to ages gone by and yet is an incredibly fitting venue for modern, contemporary weddings. It also contains the expanse of the Undercroft, a 120-seat dining hall that is incredibly popular. The smallest available hosting space within the Abbey and surrounding buildings is the Gateway Chamber, a 20-seat dining room and conferences facility. Outside, the Tudor Lawn is just a short jaunt up the paths for guests, and provides an ideal open air receptions space that is perfect for marquees and drinks in the summertime. All venues are catered to by The King’s School’s own professional chefs. They are all highly proficient in the design of menus to fit specific couples and themes, and this enhances the overall feel of prestige that this venue offers. Furthermore, clients can on request make use of the 16th Century Tithe Barn at Junior King’s School. This is set amidst the backdrop of 80 acres of countryside, surrounding all its venues in rolling fields and luscious greenery. Its grounds and venues both ensure that a wedding will always have a magical feel to them, and its customer service attitude is one of friendliness and professionalism from the initial consultation right through to the day itself. Its 40 years of experience with delivering high end events to enviable standards continue to allow it to set the bar for luxury venue hire, and it is dedicated to ensuring this remains the case into perpetuity.
