As a documentary-style photographer, Luke knows how to integrate himself seamlessly into his surroundings, capturing the honest and intimate moments of his clients’ special day and preserving the genuine joy and love felt throughout. Although he also does traditional group shots, Luke prefers not to be the photographer directing clients and guests all day as he sets up photoshoots that rarely capture the uniqueness of each event. As lockdown restrictions ease, the pressures on Luke and his associates remain as the market becomes increasingly competitive throughout its recovery. For Luke, the additional challenge has been witnessing many of the couples he was due to work with over the last year have to make the difficult decision to postpone their big day. By keeping in touch with them throughout the pandemic, Luke has sought to inject a bit of positivity into their lockdown, reminding them of the exciting things that lie ahead and eagerly waiting the day he will finally shoot all of their weddings over the coming months and years. Moreover, Luke has been refining his skillset so that now that he is able to shoot weddings once again, he has even more to offer his clientele. At the end of 2019, Luke began to offer a hybrid photo/video coverage option and has used his time at home over the lockdowns to practice and improve his skills in this area. At the same time, he has been enhancing his family documentary services which will be available fulltime from 2021 as well, a wonderful service that utilises the same principles as Luke’s wedding photography, capturing real family moments in all their natural joy.
