In April, LUXlife Magazine named Designcandy Interiors the Best for High- End Interior Design in California, as part of the ongoing, and highly-esteemed, Leading Designers Awards programme. On the back of this success, we profiled the firm to find out how they have created a unique approach to interior design. With a particular passion for embracing juxtaposition - vintage to modern, contemporary California to traditional European – Designcandy Interiors is a firm that celebrates the unusual, and the unexplored. Naturally, this is all down to the talents of Candice Truempert-Lee, a designer who has taken the experiences of her early life in Europe and created an utterly unique style that transcends and transforms in equal measure. Acting as Principal and Owner of the firm, Candice has become one of the finest interior designers on the east coast. As a full-service firm, Designcandy Interiors has practiced experience of renovations, and whole-house re-design, further distancing herself from peers in the region. Exploring every inch and every facet of modern style, Candice’s history of work has touched on the minimalistic, the bombastic contemporary, the urban and the Scandinavian. Her European influences are plain to see in the dark, finished woods, curved elegant lines and vibrant, deep colour palettes. In the other, a dash of terracotta, mahogany and rich Mediterranean-inspired flourishes. By all regards, Candice wears her inspiration on her sleeve, utilising her experience working in the hospitality sector – designing the interiors of five-star luxury hotels – to create spaces that are simply enchanting. With notable experience in redesigning leading establishments, such as Brown’s Hotel in London, Mammoth South Hotel and the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Macau, China, her work pulsates with elegance and sophistication. The Leading Designer Awards were launched with the goal of recognising only the very best designers working around the world. Designcandy Interiors certainly meets the criteria, with Candice’s unique sense of style and design influences speaking volumes about her abilities as a designer.
