40 1809LU02 Translating Client’s Taste and Lifestyle into Their Space P&T Interiors provides highly personalised residential design services to an international client base. Recently, we profiled the firm and spoke to Pol Theis who reveals the secrets behind his award-winning innovative designs. P&T Interiors - a boutique interior design firm - provides highly personalised residential design services to an international client base. The firm works tirelessly to bridge the gap between a project’s full potential and the boundaries imposed by the realities of life and believe that a great design is the culmination of a tri-party relationship between a designer, a client and the space. The firm’s role in this relationship is to translate the client’s taste and lifestyle into their space, while developing and maintaining a conceptual thread to ensure that the space reaches its highest potential. Every interior is as unique as the client for whom it is designed. P&T Interiors’ small staff of dedicated designers and architects focus all their attention on each and every project to ensure that the highest of expectations are exceeded. Pol goes into greater detailer about what qualities make for both excellent designs and designers. “The three most important things to consider are the space and its surrounding, the needs of the client and the personality of the client. From there, I start with a minimalist base. When the base is minimal, the possibilities are truly endless. Eclectic found objects and contemporary art can enhance a space and bring it to life in unique ways for each individual. “Further, there must be a mutual trust in the client/designer relationship. My client’s needs and tastes are always a priority in the design, and it is not a successful project if they are not happy with the end result. However, they also need to trust my intuitions and creativity. There is a reason they hired me, they must understand my style and be looking for a reflection of that in their home. I will not do anything I do not like, and I aim to stretch the possibilities in terms of style. “I avoid ‘signature’ styles. Every client is different, every space offers something different. As such, I design for the space and for my clients. It is my job to guide them toward a home that they didn’t know could exist. Projects turn out most successful when clients allow me to do what I do, rather than generating friction or contention throughout the process.” Continuing the discussion about P&T Interiors’ stunning designs, Pol describes
