From a hospitality perspective, ‘Greens’ Bar & Restaurant on the prestigious Ring of Kerry Golf Course in Ireland has been commercially a great success as a turnaround of an existing business and we have plans to further develop it. Also, the Headquarters for the LAD BIBLE Group in Manchester has garnered a lot of acclaim and was an award winner at the Northern Design Awards last year. It’s very unique as an office interior and I was given complete free reign on the design concept, so it was very enjoyable to work on.” Finally, on the future of Northern Backdrop Interior Design, “I want to expand onto an international platform. My next project is my largest to date. I am working with UK developer, Chris Davies and architect Xavier Anton from Madrid on a major overhaul of an existing holiday and leisure complex in Tenerife, to create a new boutique apart-hotel development, called ‘El Barranco’, which is set in a stunning location between two of the island’s premier golf courses and over-looking San Miguel de Abona yachting marina. The design feel will be a departure from the local norm and is very light, bringing together some Art Deco and modernist influences.
