85 Marina Bay Golf Course is Singapore’s first and only 18-hole public golf course and one of Asia’s best public golf courses. Located strategically in the heart of town, the course offers golfers great accessibility and a picturesque view of the city skyline, be it day or night. Following their success in LUXlife ’s 2018 Global Luxury Hotel & Spa Awards where they received the accolade Golf Course of the Year 2018, we profiled Marina Bay Golf Course to discover more about how they have designed an award-winning course. Inspired by the traditional links of Scotland; the design of the par-72 championship course attempts to connect to the history of golf with its few water hazards and in particular, its 85 pot bunkers. These bunkers not only serve as one of Marina Bay Golf Course’s dramatic features, they are also geared to provide hours of challenges and excitement to golfers. The award-winning course is the first to introduce the longest and only par-6 hole on the island, in addition to their signature par-3 13th hole which has an island green design. Its latest addition is the Marina Bay Putting Course which was open for play in November 2017. The par-24, 6-hole putting course features a unique design and 211m of natural grass putting surface. Its undulations, careful contouring and holes of varying lengths make the putting course fun and challenging for the whole family, and serious golfers alike. 1808LU33 Besides being one of the few golf courses in Singapore to offer both day and night golfing, Marina Bay Golf Course also offers golfers an enhanced golfing experience through the use of the Global Positioning System (GPS) on its full fleet of buggies. It also houses one of the biggest driving ranges in the country with a four-tier driving range capable of accommodating almost 150 range goers at any one time. The course also offers three practice greens for golfers, a pro shop, club fitting centre, golf academy, car detailing workshop and my golf kaki golf club. After their game of golf, golfers can visit the facilities or relax at the uniquely-designed Canopy Café which offers a breathtaking view of the golf course and city skyline. Despite being a public golf course, Marina Bay Golf Course places utmost care and importance to course maintenance, offering immaculate course conditions on par with private clubs. In addition to this, Marina Bay Golf Course also strives to upgrade and introduce new features over the years, offering a renewed and reinvigorated golfing experience for seasoned golfers and regular patrons alike.
