On the back of their success in LUXlife’s ongoing Leading Designers programme, where the agency was recognised for its innovative approach to design, we spoke with INSADA’s Dhira Pardi to find out more about their work and inspirations. One of the most impressive things about INSADA is, unquestionably, their ability to cater to a wide variety of clients. From luxury five-star hospitality developments and multi-family residentials to mixed-use, corporate and healthcare establishments, they have a storied history of exceeding every expectation. No small feat at all in this environment, where people have come to expect excellence at every turn. Through this success, INSADA have catapulted themselves to an enviable position on Indonesia’s creative landscape, as Dhira explains. “We have had the honour to work with local and international developers and government owned firms to produce positive results within their projects. Whether to kickstart new project typologies, develop & solve problems existing projects, or help reinvent company identities.” A core part of their creative process and, in turn, remains one of their keys to success, is INSADA’s commitment to client service. “The firm moulds each project team and design approach to meet a client’s need for each individual project, geography, and target market. With market research forming the initial project foundation, our design approach is consistently contextual, adaptive, and targeted .” To put it simply, INSADA don’t believe in a cookie-cutter process. Every project is fundamentally different from the next, requiring an altogether bespoke approach that caters entirely to the needs of the client. Aug19363 Naturally, INSADA’s culture and composition play a crucial role i achieving this ideal, and in this, Dhira emphasises the importance of a multi-cultural and diverse team. “We have thirty multi-national staff members of mixed working backgrounds; such as architecture, interior, construction, lighting, and furniture making. Despite the diversity in background, we push our staff members to understand each design practice and involve them in multiple phases of the project to produce cutting-edge results.” Dhira continues, moving on to explain the firm’s appeal to clients. “Our experience in a wide range of projects is valued by our clients; from the initial conceptual discussion, mature space planning, and construction stage such as material sourcing, and procurement, to post construction elements such as operation and maintenance; all are ensured for project longevity. Experience-based decision making in every phase of the project also enables us to consistently deliver successful projects and to build trust with all of our clients.” Finally, as we come to the end of the interview, Dhira discusses imminent developments in the Asian design sector, and how INSADA aims to achieve enduring success. “Look forward to us to completing projects in Africa, America, and the Greater Asia region. In Indonesia particularly, there has been an increasing number of requests for us to serve the single-family housing market. Moving forward, we are looking at expanding our team to be able to serve that segment of the market better. Furthermore, our experience in the international market have prepared us to deliver projects in a BIM environment. While we feel projects in southeast-Asia in general are a little late in implementing this, we do believe that BIM is the future and we will be ready to support projects in any scale in that manner.” Company: INSADA Integrated Design Team Design Director: Dhira Pardi, M.Arch, IAI, HDII Website: https://www.insadadesignteam.com/ Telephone: +62 21 584 5535 / +62 87 888 534860 INSADA INTEGRATED D E S I G N T E A M
