The view corridor is located so as to provide an uninterrupted view corridor to HH tower. The main purpose is to provide a purpose & identity to the development while drawing and encouraging viewers and neighbours to explore this area; • The North Eastern corner of the Site is identified as the most accessible location of the Site, accessible by both existing and future residents. This location was identified as suitable for creating a focal point or a meeting point for social interaction between the residents and the surrounding eighbourhood. Given this consideration, a diagonal North-Eastern site access/ walkway was created. A Convenience Store and a coffee Shop were created at this location to encourage and achieve the objective of creating a SPACE where people are provided the opportunity to meet and socially interact. CONCLUSION As outlined above, by adopting simple yet effective Urban Design Principles, the proposed development offers a unique lifestyle opportunity to future residents. It contributes to the creation of a diverse and attractive neighbourhood and a Place where people can live , interact and carry out daily activities in a safe and pleasant environment. The Heathcote Hall Estate Project (HH) is one of the most recent Projects designed by FPA Architects, and was a challenging context given the existence on the site of a State Significant Heritage Building which built in 1887. The HH Project represented a unique opportunity for FPA to create continuity between the past, present and future living. The Site area is 17,600sqm approx. The main objective of the proposed built form was to create a vibrant neighbourhood and a sense of continuity between the past, the present & the future. The built form along the Northern & Eastern frontages is defined by continuous adjoining townhouses defining the streetscape. The main street accesses to each townhouse is via a private courtyard. This provides the new residents with the opportunity to interact with existing residents across the road and surroundings. URBAN RENEWAL & NEIGHBOURHOOD CREATION Restoring Heathcote Hall to its former glory while preserving new residents’ identity and privacy was one of the most challenging & long-term objectives in achieving a safe and pleasant neigbourhood.
