Currently, the small village of Norton is blossoming into a gourmet’s paradise, and Blackwells is keen to be the centre of this revolution. Many of these staff have worked for Black- wells for many years, and thanks to this low staff turnover the firm is able to enjoy a family atmosphere and a supportive culture so that clients receive the highest possible standard of customer service. The firm is already onto the 3rd generation with Anna taking over from her father Martin who was a household name in village, his legacy is certainly a fantastic platform to build on. Experienced in hospitality and a renowned name in the region’s food landscape herself, Anna has recently opened the Violet Green restaurant which is no more than 20 yards from the shop, Chop Night and Sunday Lunches using Blackwells steaks and roasts is fast becoming a very popular dining expe- rience. She works to ensure that everyone at Blackwells understands its customer-focused ethos and are able to perform to the best of their abilities. As part of this focus, all staff are regularly encouraged to enhance their skills and product knowledge for the benefit of clients. The shop encourages ongoing personal development and currently has two young butchers on a level 3 business management training programme. These staff work collaboratively with their clients, listening to their feedback and working with them to produce new lines, recipes and products that will ensure that Blackwells remains a staple of the UK’s butchery market- place for many years to come. For example, whilst the firm’s team use traditional butchery techniques to create quality products, they also adjust their product offering to ensure the best possible price and that clients enjoy the meals they want.
