Indeed, other accolades such as the ‘Corporate Sustainability Champion Award 2017’ and collaborations with organisations such as UNESP, the food faculty at the University of Sao Paolo, has enabled Beef Passion to see that their sustainable and ethical practices equate to the highest quality meats. Beef Passion meticulously monitors each step of their vertical production processes. As a result of the herd’s diet, the cattle’s main emission is enteric fermentation which has contributed to the reduction of methane emissions by the company by 43% in comparison to the Brazilian average, alongside pasture management, forest restoration and planting. Even the solid residues produced by the fattening systems are reused as organic fertiliser for the soil, making sure that Beef Passion’s every action is totally sustainable. Even when their animals reach the mature age of slaughter, they are well-looked after by Beef Passion’s adoption of ‘humanised processes’. Through their conscientious anti-stress program and management, their Bovine Spa complete with songs, monitored temperatures and even games, Beef Passion is able to ensure that its animals are calm and happy right up to the end of its life. Beef Passion therefore only recruits those people who share the company’s vision for sustainability and animal welfare, who are able to take pride in their responsible practices and the resultant delicious cuts of meat. Together, the Beef Passion family are always evolving and striving to care for their animals as best as possible, which in turn ensures the standard of their cuts are equally high. As a result, cooks and consumers of Beef Passion produce are able to add excellent value to their plates, confident in the knowledge that every one of Beef Passion’s fifty artisan-style cuts of beef carry a rich set of attributes such as flavour, health, animal welfare and environmental wellbeing. According to Beef Passion chef, Alex Atala, this then contributes to a higher quality of meal overall, which is becoming more significant as the way we eat becomes more important when considering how we can work towards a sustainable future. While the impacts of Covid-19 have been felt by the food and hospitality sectors, Beef Passion has capitalised on ecommerce to ensure that their business continues to flourish, and as such, has seen an increase in B2C sales. As restaurants begin to reopen their doors over the coming months, Beef Passion is ready to answer the regrowth in demand, whilst simultaneously looking at how they can ensure their own shops across Brazil are safe and inviting for visitors. With the cattle farming industry coming under close scrutiny as the world collectively works towards a more sustainable future, Beef Passion is taking the lead, revolutionising the industry to prove we can and should make the changes now to guarantee a better, healthier tomorrow.
