The famous recipe was imported by the Sicilian brothers Giuseppe and Giovanni Costa, founders of the pizzeria Conca d'Oro. Giuseppe and Giovanni Costa, two pizza chefs, born in Palermo, first and last respectively of sixteen children who in 1947 fascinated by Venice decided to open here, the First Pizzeria of the city. After a thousand ideas for the creation of this little wonder, the most important thing was to find a name, a name that with its meaning would remember their origins and underline the quality of their products. Thinking and rethinking they remembered the name of their beloved Conca d'Oro where, when they were little, given the hunger, they were in the hands of oranges and lemons. The name comes Conca, a word meaning a container with infinite possibilities and d’Oro is Golden as the choice of our products with exclusively Italian origins.
