Page 16 www.lux-review.com LUX 2018 Global Excellence Awards First launched in 2013, the Holiday and Leisure Show was launched so that firms and individuals in the Travel and Leisure industry had a platform to promote their services to an audience who wanted to hear about them. At the time, Kent did not have a show in this field as, with the high-speed railway, it is only 30 minutes to London where all the big national shows in this sector are held. Originally the show was launched for the people of Kent, to offer a local perspective, but it now attracts people from far and Attracting over 2,000 quality visitors of all ages from not only Kent and Sussex but across the country, the Holiday and Leisure Show focuses on the many varied leisure opportunities that exist throughout the South East, as well as national and international destinations and attractions. This change has helped the show to grow and flourish, as Liz highlights in her opening comments. “When I initially launching the Holiday and Leisure Show seven years ago, I wanted to create an event that covered all aspects of the industry. As such, I brought in GoCruise & Travel as they are true ambassadors for the Luxury market. This, in turn, ensured the growth of the show, within this market place, and ensured our visitors had a dedicated sector to find all they were looking for. “Alongside this area, there are also luxury companies represented who are not within the GoCruise and Travel sector, and these are represented on the main floor of the show. As such, guests can have a diverse view of the industry and gain a unique insight into the market.” Having been previously held on the far East Coast of Kent, in Dover, Liz is proud to announce that the show is now moving to a new home where it will be able to welcome more guests and exhibitors, as she proudly concludes. “Looking ahead, the team at the Holiday and Leisure Show are very proud to have been invited to move the show, for 2019, to the heart of the County at the award-winning Kent Event Centre at Detling Showground, near Maidstone. This will ensure the show is accessible to far more people on both the exhibiting side and the visitors able to attend.
