The oldest guns in daily use throughout the world, the Noon Guns were fired for the first time in 1806, to help guide ships into Table Bay. Now, more than two hundred years later, cannoneers still raise a flag and tell the story of the guns before firing at precisely noon. A deafening bang resounds throughout Cape Town to let the city’s denizens that the afternoon has arrived, and for the team at Noon Gun Brewery, it is time to pour that first perfect pint. With the knowledge that the time-keeping guardian guns atop Signal Hill are watching over it, Noon Gun Brewery and its team of brewers constantly spend countless hours meticulously fine-tuning the crafting process. From brewing through to pouring, every step along the journey is taken with the utmost care.
