In light of the salon’s extraordinary success within the Global Wedding Awards 2022, we got in touch with Owner and Creative Director, Carla Kowski to learn more. Carla says, “What makes us different than other beauty companies is that we are not trying to change anything about you. We believe everyone is inherently beautiful. We do not conform to “beauty trends”. Our goal is to enhance and highlight the parts of yourself that make you feel amazing!” She went on to say, “Beauty is a very intimate experience. Many clients feel very vulnerable in that position and we get to meet them where they are and give them confidence. The best part of the job is when you see your client beam as they get to see themselves as the beautiful being everyone else was already seeing. It’s a powerful moment and at the heart of what we do.” It is indeed an outstanding team behind Alea Beauty. It is a collective of highly talented and self-motivated artists with a passion for weddings and excellent customer service skills. Carla comments, “Our job is all about making someone feel like the most important person in the room, so you have to be 100% present and in the moment.” The Alea Beauty team is now poised for the future while currently experiencing an unprecedented wedding boom. Many couples who postponed in 2020 and 2021 are now looking to marry in 2022 and 2023 – and they are competing with those who are newly engaged. Carla tells us, “We simply cannot accommodate everyone. We’ve had to double the size of our staff, but we still turn away couples frequently.” The business continues to grow and evolve; currently serving Columbus (OH) and Boston (MA) it now has its sights set on Seattle (WA) and San Diego (CA), too. The 2020 trend of micro-weddings continues to help in this growth, with Carla saying, “We have gotten creative with our offerings to be able to accommodate off-peak wedding days and smaller wedding parties. It’s been great to now book mid-week weddings. Couples seem much more open to being creative with their planning when picking a date.
