Kelley and Brandy Thorpe, business partner and daughter, founded an innovative hair salon and barber shop with a difference – Head Case Hair Studio. We chat with Brandy to find out more. The company offers guidance in the form of professional business coaching. Looking to the future, Kelley will be hosting her first Sustainable Salon Summit. Its aim is to share knowledge with other salons and stylists in the industry. The summit will feature big names from the industry including Green Circle Salons, Vish, Natulique, Procare, Quest Nutrition and Sofia Hilton. And, in September, Brandy plans to launch a new colour collection through Head Case’s strong partnership with Natulique – supplying Texas with fantastic products all the way from Denmark. Leading the charge to change that, Head Case Hair Studio was born. The salon uses only organic, cruelty-free, vegan products. Head Case partners with ecofriendly companies that develop sustainable products dedicated to preserving the environment. As a Certified Green Circle Salon, the company recycles over 95% of its waste too. Based in Keller, Head Case is a family-owned full-service sustainable salon making a big impact on the beauty industry. Serving the surrounding communities, Head Case attracts clients from far and wide – as well as partnerships with other brands with the same goal. Brandy shares, “We are distributors of Natulique products with Kelley's other company, Innovative Beauty Distributors.” But the company’s popularity doesn’t end there. Its unique selection of natural, organic beauty products, including Natulique, is also available online. Brandy tells us, “Our focus is creating a high-end, welcoming environment for clients and staff alike. We focus on teamwork instead of competition in the workplace and that makes all the difference. It’s paved the way to our success and allows us to attract and retain the most talented stylists in Texas.” The 18-strong team at the salon boasts a wealth of talent and experience and includes four bridal specialists. Head Case offers both on-site and in-studio bridal services. Brandy explains, “Our bridal specialists take the lead on all on-site weddings. It can be challenging to style large wedding parties in a short time on-site. We’ve addressed that by recommending very large parties come into the studio where we’re able to work faster and create a fun and exciting atmosphere. Our front desk coordinators are masters of creating the perfect schedule to make sure everyone is ready on time.” Every member of staff at Head Case is invested in the client experience, the team and the success of the studio.
