Owner Stephen Rennoldson had variated from his usual route one morning in 2014, to take his sister-in-law to her father’s house before she attended a wedding. Upon dropping her off, he drove past a beautiful acreage and immediately contacted his wife Renea to meet him there. After getting in touch with the realtor, they conducted a walkthrough of the property and drove to the realtor’s office to make an offer straight away. Whilst there was currently another couple interested in the property, Stephen and Renea’s immediacy and determination ultimately enabled them to secure 6995 Longsdorf Road. After attending a celebration in a rented barn for his parents’ 50th wedding anniversary, the cogs began to turn in Stephen and Renea’s minds as they discussed establishing their own barn venue. Two years later the pair hosted their two eldest nieces for the summer, one of whom was planning her 2017 summer wedding. When each venue she considered proved unavailable or unaffordable, Stephen suggested holding the wedding on their property. Works had already begun on the property with the installation of a one acre pond, and the barn was almost complete by the time of the wedding. Once pictures of the event found their way to social media, Stephen and Renea received an influx of enquiries about wedding events on the property.
