Page 60 www.lux-review.com LUX 2021 Health Beauty and Wellness Awards Offering a selection of natural products specifically designed or sourced for all skin types, without the harmful ingredients often found in mainstream brands, and with a cruelty and worry-free guarantee, FrshFced is a vegan skincare brand that is truly making its mark on the UK market. Born from aesthetics company, Feature Flawless, which was founded by advanced practice nurse Elaine Headley in 2013, FrshFced was created in response to the lack of products available to those suffering with poor skin health. Initially, Elaine had planned to apply her nursing experience to services in injectable treatments, but found that the market was flooded with mass-produced, sales-driven products that contained unnecessary yet dangerous elements like microbeads, and very rarely prioritised the consumer. So, she decided to fill a gap in the market with a skincare range that was organic, uncomplicated, and worry-free. Consequently, FrshFced today offers an extensive range of products and treatments created either inhouse or sourced from trusted and reliable partners. From anti- wrinkle treatments to derma fillers, skin peels to dermaplaning, vitamin therapy to hydra- facials, to a range of other beauty treatments and complementary therapies, as well as a small accredited training academy, Elaine’s entrepreneurialism has engendered a small beauty empire offering solutions to those often limited in the skincare market. Recipient of two awards at the Health Beauty and Wellness Awards 2021, FrshFced is a vegan and cruelty-free skincare brand that has been created to answer the needs of those often limited by poor skin health. We meet Elaine Headley, the founder and one-woman team behind FrshFced, as she tells us about her exciting brand that is positively disrupting the UK skincare market. Mar21391 Feature Flawless 16 Ltd Best Small Entrepreneurial Beauty Business 2021 & Best Vegan Skincare Brand (UK): #Frshfced Central to that empire is meticulous attention to skin analysis in all treatments and profound knowledge of both skin health and patient care that enables accurate diagnoses and effective treatment plans. “Nursing has given me the ability to be very good at listening to the concerns of my clients, guiding them through the best treatments, being at the other end of a phone if they need me, and having the empathy that is so often associated with poor body and facial image, enabling clients to see how beautiful they really are,” says Elaine. As the one-woman operation behind FrshFced, it is clear that Elaine’s unique blend of nursing experience and ingenuity is the driving force behind the brand’s success. Having found that she works best when managing her small enterprise independently, Elaine has weathered all storms to build FrshFced as a brand that is trusted throughout the UK. There have, however, been times when Elaine could have given up on her venture in the face of the challenges that confront small businessowners on a daily basis, particularly since Covid-19 broke out. However, for Elaine, quitting would have been a terrible error. “I have often felt like throwing in the towel, but then I think of all the people who are loyal to me; the ones whose company I enjoy when they come to me, those who will message and ask for advice like what they should use on their skin as the menopause is kicking in.... after I ‘ve told them to have a gin, I get on with the job. “I love what I do, and even though I’m on my own, I have fabulous support from my family and friends. No man is an island, so keep things going - it’s worth it!” With passion and devotion to her brand, Elaine was able to move FrshFced to online mediums for the duration of the pandemic without any government assistance, which she was not eligible for owing to the small size of her business. FrshFced’s online shop was paired with virtual Q&A sessions to continue being present in her customers’ lives, helping them to maintain their skin health even when they were not able to see her in person. While the beauty industry is enjoying a resurgence as the UK comes out of lockdown, Elaine does think recovery will take some time. However, she is optimistic about the future, with exciting plans to develop FrshFced throughout 2021. One exciting project is the launch of a product and treatment range designed for teenagers, born from her own experiences of adolescent acne and the self-esteem issues that often come with that. “[I plan to] work with them the way I do with my adult clients, so they feel good about themselves and have a feeling of self- worth,” Elaine explains. “Our skin is on show 24/7, and if I can help one kid feel less self- conscious about their skin - the way I did - it’ll be so worthwhile.” Contact: Elaine Headley Company: Feature Flawless 16 Ltd Web Address: www.frshfced.com
