Gaining his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the renowned Kansas City Art Institute and his Master of Arts degree from the prestigious University of Missouri - Kansas City, Michael started out with his dedication to his studies, and has decided to teach others to reach their artistic potential. Michael added: “I believe that any art is composed through two synchronous events. First, the artist makes it by communicating his insights, and then the viewers bring their perceptions and beliefs, thus transforming the work of art into its full potential.” Based on the Pikes Peak Region in Colorado, Michael Gault offers fine art workshops to a diverse selection of clients from across the area. With a keen eye for detail and focus on fine arts, Michael engages in creative expression across all of his pieces, and the pieces created by his workshop attendees. Encouraging artistic expression and aesthetic beauty, Michael’s fine art workshops are a place for nourishing talent no matter the level of skill a client may possess. As a process driven artist who is focused on the creative journey through each piece, Michael does not concentrate on sales of his paintings, drawings, and prints. He shared: “The thought process is like channelling a meditation session. By allowing myself to reflect my thoughts or concepts into each brush stroke and every color mass that touches the canvas, I am invested in developing aesthetic appreciation and intellectual engagement. My work is done with the intent of exploring concepts, emotions, and aesthetics.” When it comes to teaching and guiding his clients, Michael takes their tastes, preferences, and wishes on board and helps to transform them into a reality. He believes that art is for everyone and, therefore, teaches his workshops with all abilities in mind. Human emotion plays a huge part in the process for Michael. He commented: “By recognizing that the experience of the emotion is actually a connection to the creative experience allows an individual to look more or to look harder at all forms of art that surround us.” Using his own life experiences to create his artwork, Michael takes inspiration from what he has seen and gone through. This can be said for his studies – where he guides his clients through his past practices and education to inform them of more ways to express themselves. He enthused: “I’m a big believer in sharing and mentoring others. I don’t believe an artist can live a creative life if they are competitive with other artists. It’s only through the opening and sharing of your creative soul to other artists that you can contribute to the greater consciousness and that allows you to become the innovative creator you are meant to be.” Best Art Workshop Provider – Colorado Michael Gault is a fine artist who leads his own business with his beautiful paintings, drawings, and prints all produced himself by hand. He has sold many pieces of intricate art through art galleries and museums in Colorado, and has big plans for 2025 ahead. We heard from Michael himself as he was awarded in our recent Creative and Visual Arts programme. For the rest of 2025, Michael has a busy schedule ahead of him. He began the new year with regional exhibitions which he deeply enjoyed, and in the coming months he will be exhibiting in the Loveland Museum in Loveland, Colorado. He will also be part of the exclusive juried opportunity for artists in the region with the Colorado Governor’s Show, also known as “Art With Heart,” which is renowned for its scholarships made for local art students and also supporting the Thompson Education Foundation Resiliency fund for Unhoused Youth with 100% of the proceeds funding this. He continued: “The Pikes Peak Plein Air Painters group that I co-founded will be sponsors for the nationally advertised “Peak Art Adventure Plein Air Event & Competition” in late July, and I’ll be participating with many of my students in the event. I have a couple of other plein air competitions scheduled for late summer and fall. And my open studio classes will start up again in the fall. I’m working on other exhibition opportunities and will be hosting my annual Autumn Studio Open House, in October, so lots of work ahead.” As a master artist with experience in realism, impressionism, abstract, and contemporary styles, Michael Gault has become an accomplished oil painter who is devoted to aiding others along their creative journey.
