Today, the Plantation welcomes a wide range of guests from around the world to sample its quality hospitality and revel in its glorious natural surroundings. The lodge's location promises maximum safari enjoyment: a stone's throw from the entrance to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and the Lake Manyara national park, and just a short journey from the Tarangire national park and the Serengeti. The individually furnished rooms and suites melt harmoniously into the lush gardens and offer comfort and relaxation. Being a small owner-run lodge, the personal touch can be seen and felt throughout the Plantation. As every room is so different, the management team and staff are very aware of the different needs from clients and can offer them accommodation that will meet their exact needs and exceed their expectations. Co- Owner Renate has very high standards and all her staff understand the high standard required and aim to achieve above that, Renate and her management team are on the ground at all times, personally interact with clients and are there to oversee all departments and that everything runs perfectly. Seeking to offer guests a unique experience that is in-line with current trends in the hospitality industry, the current focus for the Plantation is sustainability. The team is currently in the process of finalising the solarisation of the lodge so that it can move from 50% to 100% power from solar equipment imported from Germany. This is just a small part of the lodge’s environmentally-friendly focus. Recently the team managed to find water on a new piece of land, so they now have our own water which goes through a filter system, this is tested regularly and has cut back on plastic bottle usage. They are also in the process of installing a new irrigation system which will increase the vegetable garden capacity, allowing the team to continue to grow and serve fresh vegetables. Ultimately, the Plantation is a unique Tanzanian oasis, and moving forward it will aim to retain this reputation for excellence even as it moves towards greater sustainability to ensure it remains ahead of emerging trends in the hospitality industry.
