Situated very close to the centre of Dufftown the Malt Whisky Capital of the World, the establishment is haven for lovers of either Malt Whisky or Gin, who enjoy visiting the 50 distillers that surround this charming bed and breakfast. Offering a home from home experience, all rooms at Gowanbrae B&B have en-suite facilities, and there is a guest lounge in which many visitors have enjoyed their evenings relaxing and having a dram after a busy day sightseeing within beautiful Speyside. Some guests have even made use of the record player and LPs. Gowanbrae Bed and Breakfast is a lovely Victorian house situated near the centre of Dufftown and close to all the local amenities. As we explore a selection of the winners from our 2018 Hospitality Awards, we decided to profile the establishment to find out more. Gowanbrae Bed & Breakfast Most Friendly B&B 2018 - Moray As part of Steve and Jo’s focus on treating their guests how they would like to be treated, they supply them with complimentary toiletries and Walkers shortbread. All of this helps the team to offer a truly immersive experience to guests who visit this quaint Scottish town, and this begins from the moment they reach the establishment. Upon arrival every guest is personally welcomed and asked about their journey, shown the house and their room, given suggestion of places to eat or drink and attractions to visit during their stay in Dufftown and Scotland. The breakfast ingredients are locally suppled where possible with products such as Sausages, Bacon, Haggis, Eggs and Black pudding supplied from their local butcher, who won the converted Black pudding champion of Scotland back in 2014. All preserves are hand made by Jo, and as such guests feel truly at home and able to enjoy a little piece of Dufftown. Looking ahead, to ensure that guests continue to enjoy the exceptional hospitality and facilities that they have come to expect, Gowanbrae B&B remains committed to renovating its rooms and restoring the house to its original grandeur.
