Following his move to California in 1996, festival founder Tom Ingram began Viva Las Vegas as a way to celebrate his love of all things 1950s. Viva Las Vegas Rockabilly Weekend: Leading Celebration of 50s Music & Nostalgia 2019 In the years since the festival’s creation, Viva Las Vegas has grown to become the largest celebration of 1950s rockabilly culture across the world, and has therefore attracted guests from every corner of the world. Recently, trends have indicated that guests are flocking from South America and Asia, a market that Tom and the festival are keen to capitalise on. Attracting more than twenty thousand guests to The Orleans Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, the weekender is also home to North America’s largest pre-1960s car show. Guests have grown to expect that the festival will always get the best acts. Compared to when Viva Las Vegas was first started, Tom and the team now book approximately ten times the number of bands. Expecting the best, guest have not been let down, with past headliners of the music festival including rockabilly legends such as Jerry Lee Lewis, Wanda Jackson, and Chuck Berry, to name just a few.
