Born from a passion for food and drink, Nicetta is the result of the love story of founders Alvise and Dominique, who met when they arrived in the South West seeking new opportunities. For Alvise, it was a chance to explore the world outside Sicily, for Dominique, a chance to be closer to her family. The pair met while whilst working long, gruelling hours in a chain restaurant, united in their knowledge that there was a better way to run a restaurant. Alvise and Dominique married in the divine Villa Nicetta, one of Sicily’s most resplendent locations and the inspiration for the couple’s future business venture. Returning to Weymouth, they set about making plans and got to work on transforming a dilapidated property into a clean, comfortable and intimate restaurant close to Weymouth Beach. Combining Alvise’s Sicilian heritage and passion for good food coupled with Dominique’s long experience as a restaurant manager, the pair have created a unique taste of Sicily in Weymouth. Driven by core values of Passion, Flair and Family, Nicetta strives for perfection for every guest. Nicetta’s wine selection has been carefully curated by an experienced sommelier, ensuring there is something for everyone to accompany every item on Nicetta’s comprehensive menu. The restaurant also serves traditional Italian delicacies such as Sicilian cannoli with Italy’s favourite Lavazza coffees during the day. Like many businesses, Nicetta has had an incredibly tough 2020. However, resilient and proactive, Alvise, Dominique and their team have adapted to continue operating as far as possible, updating their website and working in collaboration with other local businesses to create a delivery service. Nicetta has made the most of every opportunity to welcome their guests when possible in between lockdowns, and whilst visiting restaurants in-person may be on hold for now, the team at Nicetta look forward to welcoming their guests back in 2021 as soon as they are able.
