Hospitality Awards 2021

Page 42 www.lux-review.com LUX 2021 Hospitality Awards Sirenian Bay is an award-winning, all-inclusive luxury resort nestled in the golden sands of the Placencia Peninsula in southern Belize. A boutique property, with a maximum occupancy of 82 guests, plus a stunning beachfront location, offers an ideal backdrop for weddings and honeymoons, family vacations, or romantic getaways. Director of Sales and Marketing, Tobie Beck, tells us a little more about what makes the Sirenian Bay experience so unique. “As an independently owned property, we offer highly customisable vacation experiences where we love to say YES to guest requests,” he enthuses. “Roast a pig on the beach? Yes. Coordinate a surprise proposal on the pier with dinner on the beach afterwards? Yes. Family photo shoot? Yes. Private day on an island with lunch and bartenders? Yes. Complimentary cake for a birthday celebration? Every time. Balloons and banners in your room for a special celebration, rose petals on the bed, champagne on ice.... if we can make it happen, the answer is almost always YES!” Tobie and the team price themselves on their communication skills and carefully collaborate closely with every guest prior to arrival to ensure they know as much as possible about their trip, what would make it special, and how to provide unexpected moments of joy. It is this level of exceptional attention to detail that sets the company aside from competitors. “Our mission is to create a return guest before they even leave our property,” Tobie explains. “Very quickly after arrival, guests notice that our staff know them by name. Guests receive a high level of personalised service through our private butlers and resort concierge staff, and our team engages with the guests to learn what they love - so that coffee arrives every Aug21402 Sirenian Bay Resort & Villas Best Luxury All-Inclusive Resort - Belize morning at just the right time, beach chairs are already arranged, and needs are met before they are realised.” Another unique selling point at Sirenian Bay is the WOW factor which guests receive upon entering the gates for the first time. A gate retracts and guests are met by a gorgeous view, bubbling water features, and friendly staff waiting with hand drawn welcome signs. Attentive security guards rush to sanitise luggage as it is unloaded, and guests are provided with cooling, lightly scented towels to freshen up. As they complete check in, the pool bar is preparing Offering a premium holiday quite unlike any other, Syrenian Bay is one of Belize’s newest resorts. With a customer-centric ethos, and dedicated to providing a truly personalised experience, we find out more about what makes a stay a Syrenian Bay simply out of this world! their welcome drinks which they’ll enjoy on the way to their accommodation. “Smiles and welcomes make guests feel like they’re being welcomed BACK, not greeted for the first time!” Tobie continues. “At Sirenian Bay, we are an employee-first focused organisation too. We know that when our employees are taken care of - by the company and by each other - they are able to offer a better experience to our guests.” It’s fair to say that Syrenian Bay sets a new standard for luxury in Belize, but it goes beyond air-conditioners and TV in every room. It’s a level of service and hospitality that is hard to match. As well as this, the establishment is an all-inclusive in the true sense of the word, again something which is rare in the country except on the private islands. The hospitality industry is challenging right now and Syrenian Bay is seeing no exception. Fortunately, in Belize there are not the same labour shortages that many hospitality markets are experiencing, however there is a huge tourism shortage. “While we saw an initial surge in visitors after the vaccine became widely available, factors from the new Delta variant to constantly changing travel restrictions have slowed the tourism rebound we hoped for.” Many of the service changes that Syrenian Bay made in response to the pandemic were positive and will stay in place - becoming an all-inclusive resort being at the top of that list. Tobie and the team also took the time during lockdown to refine the services offered, company policies, and procedures to ensure guests enjoyed an even higher level of service when it re-opened once more. Having recently been awarded Best Luxury All-Inclusive Resort – Belize in the LUXlife Hospitality Awards 2021, it seems that the future is bright for Syrenian Bay and, as one of the newest properties in Belize, it is already growing. “We have already made a splash with our rich amenity package. We brought in the first (and currently only) professionally designed miniature golf course in Belize, and we are about to open the first pickleball courts on the Peninsula. Earlier this year, we opened our large fitness centre and our Beach Grille, adding a dining option for all-inclusive guests.” By the end of the year, Tobie tells us that a rooftop martini bar and wine room will be open plus, in the next 2-3 years, Syrenian Bay will celebrate the opening of its expanded spa, additional garden accommodations, and its guest-exclusive private island.
