Drawing on that skill set, he founded JW Adler Interiors on the notion that selling to the hospitality industry should focus less on the selling aspect and more on project management. Like many during the COVID-19 pandemic, Jeromy was a casualty of layoffs. However, he used this time to fast-track a 10-year plan into a five-month project, launching his multi-line representation company amidst a global pandemic’s uncertainty, chaos, and economic turmoil. Throughout the pandemic, Jeromy discovered opportunities and took advantage of his time to fully conceptualize what his multi-line company would look like. Jeromy explains, “Due to COVID, a lot of manufacturers had to either furlough or lay off their salaried reps. A lot of them turned to independent multi-line reps, which presented a unique opportunity to acquire good lines quickly”. The result was that Jeromy was able to launch JWAI in October of 2020 with an initial lineup of five well-established, capable, and respected lines. This includes everything from simple human outreach during the pandemic to the forthcoming ‘Side Hustles.’ Set to launch in 2022, Side Hustles is an online platform that will allow anyone connected to the hospitality industry and their families to promote, for free, their hobbies, passions, and talents outside of work. The aim is that the platform provides a forum to celebrate, support, and humanize the many creative and talented people who operate within the shared industry. Moreover, Jeromy offers consultations with manufacturing companies to help determine if independent multi-line representation is suitable for them.
