Hospitality Awards 2023

Caravan Park of the Year 2023 – Western Scotland Rosneath Castle Caravan Park is a fourth generation, five-star, family run and managed park, which has been operating since 1954. With the picturesque setting of the idyllic Gare Loch surrounding you, there are few better places to enjoy a caravan holiday in Scotland than Rosneath Castle. Here we explore Rosneath Castle Caravan Park’s offerings as it wins its title in the Hospitality Awards 2023. Rosneath Castle Caravan Park consists of 55 acres and approximately 500 pitches, comprised of a combination of holiday home ownership, residential, touring and rental caravans. On the site, there is a bar and restaurant, local convenience store, soft play, laundrette, family fun-zone, water sports centre, playpark, and a motorhome touring area, which opened fully in September. The bar/restaurant offers freshly cooked meals along with a takeaway option, the convenience store stocks all the essentials to make your say comfortable, the indoor soft play is a great way for the children to stay active, and with entry at only £1, it provides great value for money. The family fun-zone provides a whole host of games for children, and includes pool, air hockey, and table tennis tables. A brand-new outdoor playpark provides some old-fashioned outdoor fun, while for the thrill seeker, the adjacent water sports centre offers the opportunity to partake in kayaking, canoeing, sailing, and paddle sports. Furthermore, there is a popular area for visitors to try their hand at wild swimming, and over the years, the area has seen a variety of welcome visitors, including porpoises, seals, and even jellyfish. Prior to arrival at the park, everybody receives a pre-arrival call to talk through what they can expect when they arrive, and the team take the opportunity to ask if there is anything further they can do to make the duration of the stay more comfortable. If anybody happens to be celebrating an event such as a birthday or anniversary, the team will decorate the accommodation, putting in cards, flowers, cake, and maybe a bottle or two of fizz. Every guest is treated like family, with respect, courtesy, friendliness, and a wee bit of banter! A lot of the feedback the park receives focuses on it feeling very much like a home away from home, and guests always feel looked after during their stay. Nothing is ever too much trouble for the team, who will always go out of their way to guarantee that all customers and owners who visit leave with a good lasting impression. Many of the park’s patrons come to the park with a sense of nostalgia, having visited before on holidays with parents or grandparents, and then take their own children, bringing things full circle. From the moment guests arrive on-site, they are greeted warmly by the reception team, who provide as much information as they can to maximise a guest’s enjoyment. The team are excited to announce that the motorhome and touring area is now open, and they look forward to welcoming customers old and new to this new area of the site. It has been a work-in-progress for the last three years, so to see it finally come to fruition has instilled a sense of relief within the team. This new development consists of 19 pitches, which are hard-standing and fully serviced. A brand-new wash house with four individual showers and toilets, an Elsan chemical toilet, and a dog shower for muddy paws will complete the project, with prices at approximately £35 per night. Now more so than ever, it is essential for us all to achieve the much-needed rest and relaxation that a holiday at Rosneath can provide. With stunning surroundings, Rosneath provides the perfect space to meet up with friends and family, offering a safe and friendly atmosphere. Less than an hour’s drive from Glasgow, there is no need to travel hours to feel like you have gotten away from the stresses of modern life. As an independent holiday operator in the crowded marketplace of today, the team at Rosneath know the difficulty in getting recognised, but the amazing team work tirelessly to ensure constant success. The team are the fabric that brings the whole holiday experience together, and interwoven with the Quibell family ethos and history, Rosneath is a hidden gem that is waiting to be discovered by you, to return to again and again.
