Formed of the three villages Dorfgastein, Bad Hofgastein, and Bad Gastein, the valley is a magnificent landscape that invites its visitors to switch off and escape into the captivating natural wonder of Austria. Located in the town centre of Bad Hofgastein, and thus in the heart of the Gastein region, is Art & Boutique Hotel The STORKS, owned and operated by the Stork family. Join us below as we speak with Carsten Stork, Co-Founder of The Storks. Since its inception in the summer of 2021, Art & Boutique Hotel The STORKS has been dedicated to delivering a unique, meaningful experience to its diverse array of clientele. The hotel’s establishment was the realisation of a lifelong dream for Owner Katharina Stork, who had dreamt of owning her own hotel since her youth. Driven by their son’s athletic career, the Stork family found themselves in Bad Hofgastein. It was here that they fell in love with the former Hotel Winkler and seized the opportunity to transform the property into Art & Boutique Hotel The STORKS, an adult-only hotel that combines tradition, culture, and modernity. Each element of the hotel’s formation has been meticulously planned by the Storks, even down to its logo. The stork with a top hat and monocle was the trademark of the legendary Stork Club in New York, which had become known to be one of the most prestigious clubs in the world. With the purchase of the logo, the stork has migrated from New York to Bad Hofgastein to stand proud as a representation of the entrepreneurial Stork family. Katharina Stork is a devoted mother of three and natural-born hotelier, for whom the opening of Art & Boutique Hotel The STORKS has been a childhood dream come true. Before establishing the hotel, Katharina organised large events for the Deutsche Börse AG in the 1990s. After spending several years in Frankfurt and London, Katharina worked for various hotels in Austria until beginning the project of opening her own hotel in 2019.
