Renovated over a year ago, Mill Barn has everything you could need for an enjoyable stay that oozes country chic through both the décor and beautifully kept private garden. Upon arrival you are greeted by the the cottage’s traditional stone exterior and a large blue door leading in to the openplan ground floor. Set out in the kitchen there are an array of edible goodies such as fruit, homemade brownies, jams, chutneys and savoury biscuits, welcoming you into the elegant kitchen. Complete with a range cooker, the kitchen is well equipped with all the essentials for your stay- there’s even a dishwasher to settle any after dinner washing-up arguements. Alternatively, there are also other dinner options close by, including an Indian restaurant in Newick orfurther afield a Miller & Carter Steakhouse in Haywards Heath, if you feel like a night off from cooking. In the spacious sitting room you can cosy up together in front of the log burner watching Netflix andlounge on the sofa reading a good book from the collection on the shelf or choose from the range of games and DVDs hidden in the room’s cupboard, whateever you choose you are sure to feel comfortable and totally at ease. To help you relax the underfloor heated bathroom has a luxurious double-ended bath and a walk-in rain shower if your not willing to share. Just over the landing there is a gorgeous bedroom overlooking the common; the idea; setting for a perfect night’s sleep. Within the cottage you can see the attention to detail in every room, from the granite worktops in the kitchen, the hand woven rope-work on the spiral stairs and comfortable king-size bed, to the deep sofas to sink into while the log burner roars away. For the more active there are plenty of walks on your doorstep, Chailey Windmill is a Grade II listed Smock Mill just 50 metres away, and from Mill Barn you can walk straight onto Red House Common, part of Chailey Common Local Nature Reserve. The common is also a Site of Special Scientific Interest because of its heathland plants, insects and birds.
