LUX 2018 Pet Product & Services Awards Page 16 www.lux-review.com Dad-in-Paws Limited is a local pet-sitting and walking service dedicated to providing high-quality pet care to clients across the Hertfordshire region. We invited Ashley to tell us more about the firm and the range of solutions it provides. Dad-in-Paws Limited Best Dog Boarding & Walking Service - Hertfordshire Established in 2016, Dad-in-Paws came about due to there being a lack of good professional pet care businesses in the local Hertfordshire area. Today the firm offers a wide range of services including dog walking, pet minding, pop-in visits for cats and dogs as well as dog day-care. Many of its clients are local professionals that require pet care due to having to work as well as trustworthy minders to take care of their pets whilst going away for weekends or summer holidays. Ashley explores how the firm has had a client and pet focused approach right from the beginning. “As a team, very soon after we first started Dad-in-Paws we decided that our company values were to be professional and friendly, trustworthy and to demonstrate our love of animals 100% of the time. We continuously engage with our customers to keep them updated on pet’s behaviours and progression as well as any concerns that we have. Each pet is ‘auditioned’ at a meet and greet appointment prior to joining our ever-growing team of cats and dogs. This is very important as we will not accept any pet that could affect the safety of the public, our team or other dogs. “Every pet that we do look after, whether it is for a 30-minute pop-in visit or a two-week dog holiday, comes with their own specific requirements, routine and behaviours. To ensure that we meet these, before we care for their pet we meet each client initially for at least one hour to ensure that we document the relevant information to ensure that all experiences with us are safe as well as fun. Specifics can include health issues and medication or smaller dogs being intimidated by larger dogs, even some dogs that have phobias around umbrellas or loud noises. This helps all of the team to be able predict behaviours and ensure that every pet we care for has a relaxed and enjoyable experience.”
