Pet Products & Services Awards 2025

Pet Products and Services Awards 2025 | 15 Best Canine Hydrotherapy Specialists 2025 – UK Just like humans, dogs can experience feelings of stress and anxiety. When overwhelmed by their surroundings, our pampered pups also need a break every once in a while. A change of scenery can be instrumental in allowing your dog to get back to basics and provide them with the R&R they truly deserve. Based in Walsall, K9 Core Hydrotherapy and Rehabilitation Centre offers a one-stop-shop for all canine physical and mental needs, operating with the belief that dogs deserve holidays and pamper time too. We took a closer look at K9 Core below, as the centre is named in the Pet Products and Services Awards 2025. Incorporated in 2019, K9 Core is a hydrotherapy and rehabilitation centre for dogs, on a mission to support canine health and wellbeing. The centre was founded by canine professionals who are international dog sport competitors as well as suppliers and trainers of police and service dogs, meaning that they understand dog psychology and physiology to a much higher level than many others in this field. As a whole, K9 Core is operated by a team of experts who possess inimitable knowledge and a deep understanding of their canine clientele and are wholly devoted to their care. Jessica Dunsdon, the Company Director, is passionate about canine care and training. She boasts a remarkable repertoire of more than 50 different qualifications and is recognised nationwide for her specialty in police and HMP dogs. Jessica’s unique skillset lies in the breeding and training of police dogs, currently in license across the country. With her extensive knowledge and experience, Jessica is an invaluable asset to K9 Core, and a key driver behind the centre’s excellent services. K9 Core offers a wide range of services specifically designed to provide dogs with the rest and attention they need. The centre offers boarding kennels, with separate buildings for big dogs and small dogs; canine hydrotherapy; canine physiotherapy; expertise in canine health and nutrition; canine 4K laser therapy and state-of-the-art stance analysis machines; and ISO, Seiger, and Körung training services. Hydrotherapy is a highly beneficial therapy for dogs, particularly those recovering from injuries, surgery, or suffering from conditions that impact mobility. It provides low-impact activity that reduces stress on joints, muscles, and bones due to additional buoyancy. K9 Core’s hydrotherapy sessions involve an assessment to identify points of pain and the dog’s range of motion. Sessions last 30-40 minutes and can increase in difficulty as the dog improves, with massages and stretches provided throughout. Physiotherapy is an equally advantageous canine therapy, offering pain relief, joint relief, restored mobility, and quicker recovery time post-injury or surgery. K9 Core’s tailored physiotherapy sessions can take many forms, including massages, joint manipulations, stretches, remedial exercises, or one of the centre’s electrotherapies – such as laser, pulsed electromagnetic field therapy, TENS, or NMES. At the end of each hour-long session, the dog’s owner will be prescribed with exercises to complete at home to continue the treatment, which will alter throughout the rehabilitation programme. Alongside its specialised therapies, K9 Core also believes in providing its canine guests with fun and fitness. While the team is passionate about helping dogs to stay active and healthy, they understand that fun is a significant driver behind achieving this goal. K9 Core’s expert trainers are equipped to teach canine guests how to swim, ensuring they have the skill and confidence to enjoy the water safely. The centre offers AIS-Apr25092 a unique swimming badge programme designed to reward progress and recognise achievements, motivating both pups and their owners to succeed. At its core, K9 Core is a company committed to extending and enhancing the lives of its canine clients through an array of beneficial services. What began on a derelict site with a shoestring budget has grown and evolved into a five-star rehabilitation centre, one of the most respected centres in the area and licenced by the council facility. This evolution is a testament to the dedication and excellence of K9 Core’s team, who have worked tirelessly to deliver the unparalleled services for which the centre has become renowned. Moving forward, K9 Core will be focused on the expansion and enhancement of its facilities, enabling it to provide canine care to an even broader client base. This expansion will see the extension of its premises, alongside the addition of an underwater treadmill and further treatment rooms. Since its inception, K9 Core has been unfaltering in its mission of supporting canine health and wellbeing through specialist services – a mission that has undoubtedly earned K9 Core the title of the UK’s Best Canine Hydrotherapy Specialists 2025.
