Situated in the stunning Drumlang bluebell woods, Hideaway Lodges is surrounded by beautiful birds and wildlife such as fallow deer, mountain hares and golden and white-tailed eagles, making it a popular destination for avid bird and wildlife watchers. With its central location the north and south of the island are easily accessible for guests to enjoy a walk, a cycling excursion or a road trip across the island. Guests can choose from one of three eco- friendly lodges which cater for up to two adults on a luxury self-catering basis with either a king-size bed or twin beds. Each lodge has a comfortable lounge, dining area, bathroom and a well-equipped kitchen containing a large fridge-freezer, microwave, dishwasher and electric cooker. The lodges also include a veranda with outdoor seating to allow guests to enjoy the stunning scenery and wildlife on their doorstep. On arrival guests are welcomed by owners Janine Allen and Mark Whitaker, and with their warm hospitality and knowledge of the island, guests feel at home and comfortable as soon as they check in. The couple maintain the properties themselves with the assistance of a freelance cleaner and ensure that all lodges are immaculately clean and cosy, adding their personal touch by leaving kilner jars of homemade shortbread in each lodge. Hideaway Lodges quickly adapted to the pandemic and implemented necessary changes and protocols to ensure their guests had flexibility with their bookings including deposits, refunds and arranging new travel dates. With more than a 60% return rate, Hideaway Lodges has built a good relationship with its returning customers which provided them with a definite advantage over recent months.
