Named after Elaine’s youngest Lhasa Apso, the award-winning Gertie’s Getaway became the first in July 2019, a stylish three-bedroom stone cottage originally built in 1880. The property was completely renovated to create a delightful, light, and airy space with a modern and cosy ambience. Featuring the latest appliances, a log burner, luxurious Ted Baker and Sheridan bedding, and fluffy Egyptian cotton towels, Gertie’s Getaway serves as the perfect base from which to explore the spectacular coastline, as well as the nearby Harbour Village, beach, marina, and various pubs, cafés, and restaurants. Following the incredible success of Gertie’s Getaway, renovation work soon began on another close by property, which would become Tilly’s Lookout, named after Elaine’s oldest Lhasa Apso, and welcoming guests by October 2020. Tilly’s Lookout is a gorgeous three-bedroom cottage first built in the early 1900s. Retaining its original features, such as fireplaces and wooden floors, it combines the modern with a traditional cottage feel. Over three floors, this property is furnished to a very high standard, and features artwork from local artist, Lynne Morelli. Notably, the master bedroom on the second floor boasts wonderful views across the town square and marina. In December 2020 came the latest addition to the “pack” – Dexter, the rescue Dobermann, inspiring the name of Dexter’s Den, another fabulous three-bedroom stone cottage constructed in the mid-1800s and completely renovated in April 2022. Sitting in one of the most sought-after locations in Amble, Dexter’s Den invites couples, families, and friends, and is perhaps one of the most esteemed holiday cottages in the town. In close proximity to the harbour and little shore beach, it overlooks the town square and breath-taking sea views.
