After studying art history at Leuven University, Sven entered the field of politics and worked for the most prominent office in Belgium politics for a number of years. Despite his success, Sven found himself wanting for something more – something different. After travelling from Brussels to Santiago de Compostela, Sven decided to stay in Spain for a couple of years. Following his time in Spain, he found himself in Venice – where every inch of the city served as a direct reflection of Sven’s deep love for art and history. Slowly but surely, a dream began to form in Venice as Sven realised that he wanted to share the beauty of this city with the rest of the world. Today, Sven welcomes guests to Villa Contarini B&B with a heartfelt mission: to share the beauty and history of Lido di Venezia with each individual who walks through Villa Contarini’s doors.
