Restorts and Retreats Awards 2025

Resorts and Retreats Awards 2025 | 17 Singing & Performance Retreat of the Year 2025 – UK & Best Emerging Concept 2025 Created by a team of event-industry experts who live for singing and performing, the aptly named Sing Eat Retreat gives people who share this passion the chance to spend a week with these industry professionals, developing their skills across retreats that also boast stunning locations and great food. Offering holidays quite unlike any other, Sing Eat Retreat has more than earnt itself two awards and a place in this programme. Founder Zane Rambaran – a seasoned concert promoter who got his start in musical theatre – was on hand to tell us more about these singing retreats. Amateurs, postgraduates, and professionals alike are welcome at Sing Eat Retreat, which combines singing and performance lessons with workshops, beautiful destinations, and exceptional cuisine to deliver the holiday of a lifetime for budding performers. What sets Sing Eat Retreat apart is that the professionals running its sessions are straight out of London’s West End. Thus, from masterclasses with celebrated theatre leads to performance guidance from acclaimed directors, everything here is about authenticity. Transformations are at the heart of Sing Eat Retreat, which gives the participants of each of its unique retreats a desirable goal to work towards so that they have something to celebrate at the end of the week. This may be delivering a live concert, organising a flash mob for an unsuspecting audience, or even taking part in a short film. The team here have their own goal too, and that is to see that every individual – regardless of their ability or previous experience in this field – leaves the retreat as a better, more confident singer or performer. To this end, Sing Eat Retreat offers a list of holidays spanning a number of themes, with those for the rest of 2025 and early 2026 including the works of Stephen Schwartz (the man behind such hit musicals as Wicked), Les Misérables, and rock musicals. All three of these retreats are being held in Tarifa, Spain, at local villa Huerta Belinda. This majestic mansion is the perfect backdrop for the week, with its eight bedrooms and grand lounge areas leading to a beautiful pool and patios with plenty of space for dining and relaxing together. If we take the Stephan Schwartz-themed retreat as an example, which is taking place in the last week of September, this villa will play host to West-End stars including leading lady Dianne Pilkington (who is renowned for her role as Glinda in the West-End production of Wicked) and musical director Steve Moss (whose credits include Les Misérables and Mary Poppins), before culminating in a live concert at the end of the week. Everyone from theatre students to confident amateur performers is invited to come along and take part. Over the course of the week, every participant will be offered more than 30 hours of performance and tuition, including masterclasses, mentor sessions, and oneon-one time with these aforementioned professionals. Included in the price is also the seven-night stay in the villa, with five days of full board and one day of half board (attendees all go out for a meal at a local restaurant on one of the evenings), representing tremendous value. Whether concerning this retreat or any of the others the company delivers, the foundation of each week always remains the same: expert vocal tuition, performance advice from esteemed directors, and music rehearsals delivered by leading musical directors. The same can be said of the values behind these retreats, which Zane told us are grounded in a combination of exceptional service and creating lots of fun for guests, all of whom are guaranteed a memorable, rewarding, one-ofa-kind experience across every unique session. Thanks to the remarkable nature of the singing holidays provided by Sing Eat Retreat, the company has experienced increased demand over the past few years, with many of its retreats now being fully booked a year in advance. To meet this demand, Zane explained that the company is now booking its retreats two years ahead in order to set the diary. This growth also means new retreats are on the horizon, including a new venue in Italy, and the team are even scouting venues in Lapland for a ‘Sing Christmas’ week over the holidays.
