Our food offering was also in need of development, and as such we came up with a new and varied quality offer for a Monday to Saturday service and a good value quality Sunday Roast. The smaller of the bars is presented as a sports bar showing all major sporting events including football, rugby, golf, GAA, horseracing and formula one. It also doubles up as a function room, where the establishment caters for all types of events and parties including providing food packages for all budgets. It also has its own bar and toilets, so that privacy can be guaranteed. Alongside this, the main bar is also used for sport but mainly for service of food and weekly entertainment. The Orchard hosts karaoke on Friday and Sunday evenings with a variety of live music and entertainment on Saturday nights, generating a lively crowd and creating a warm and friendly atmosphere. The bar’s renovation began last year, when Gemma and a colleague decided that the bar needed to change, as she explains. “Last year we began developing the Orchard, and we started with an outside redecoration programme, choosing to use bold colours on the outside and updating the signage has made the pub stand out. The Orchard comprises of two bars, which we then set about updating starting with a full redecorating program of both bars using a modern colour scheme. Additionally, we set up a Facebook page to keep our customers informed as to what is happening at The Orchard and to monitor feedback to help us improve our service. To this day we still use the page to connect with our clients, and offer regular promotions and rewards on food and drinks for our followers. The Orchard is a rustic bar based in Croydon, Surrey.
