Spring 2019
78 Oct18255 Recently LUXlife had the pleasure of visiting Georgian House, a quintessential Victorian Grade II-listed boutique hotel, nestled in picturesque Pimlico. With its grand four poster beds, atmospheric lighting and medieval-esque interiors, the Georgian House Hotel offers guests the opportunity to experience something magical, and truly out of the ordinary. Based in Central London, this family-run boutique hotel was built in 1851 by current owner Serena von der Heyde’s great great grandfather and has been treasured by the family ever since. The stylish, elegant hotel is very much a hidden treasure and has some truly enchanting features that are sure to exceed even the most discerning of expectations. LUXlife were offered the luxury of staying in the infamous Wizard Chambers where we were truly transported to a world full of magic. The chamber, in an expected fashion, is concealed on the lower ground floor of the hotel, accessible through a candle-lit, portrait-lined passageway. With its stained-glass windows, stone walls, archways and four poster beds – hung with rich velvet curtains – the chambers themselves offer an opportunity that needs to be experienced to be fully appreciated. Here you can truly sleep like a wizard and be transported to another world entirely. To add to this magical stay, we also enjoyed the Wizard Cocktail Experience, which is simply a must for anyone staying at the hotel. Under the watchful guidance of the Head Wizard, this experience was like nothing else we have ever tried and offered yet another layer to the narrative that forms the hotel’s utterly unique aesthetic. Ancient scroll in hand, we were given an array of liquids and powders, including such wonders as thunderhead dragon blood, phoenix teardrops and frozen crystals. We had to get the mixture right of course – otherwise the magic would fail to work! Experience the Magic of theWizard Chambers at Georgian House Hotel Retreat Exclusive
