Husband and wife team Monica Santayana and Ronald Alvarez are Moniomi Design’s founders and principal designers. It all began when Monica and Ronald met at Florida International University, and ever since, they have been designing projects together. After collaborating for several years, they launched Moniomi Design together with a high-profile client project that has been ongoing for almost 11 years. Through word of mouth referrals and an eclectic portfolio, the company has grown exponentially. Monica’s focus is the aesthetically-driven side of the business, where she is responsible for selecting the specifics of the design process, such as textiles and furniture. Ronald is involved in the design aspect of the business with Monica; however his background is in project management and advertising, where he keeps everything on schedule, on budget, and moving forward. Together, they form a dynamic team that clients resonate with. The couple have two children, Bravo and Bella, and live in Miami together. With experience in high-end residential, hospitality and commercial interior design, Moniomi provides clients with innovative interiors that are thoughtful and timeless. Their skills include full-service interior design for projects of any scale, custom art and furniture design, graphic design, space planning, and project management. Moniomi’s commercial work includes a private aircraft terminal Orion Jet Center and hospitality projects such as AC Hotels by Marriott, Hyatt Place, and Pincho Factory restaurant. From the planning stages of new construction homes to luxury renovations of historic estates, Moniomi’s residential portfolio spans investment properties, interior decorating, architecture, and landscape architecture consulting.
