Anchored in a rich heritage and a history of academic excellence, this institution can be traced back to 1545 and the reign of its namesake, but such prestige does not serve to define the setting today, rather, it is famed for its forward-thinking approach and versatility when it comes to adapting to changes in our fast-paced world. The potential of every pupil is discovered, and their talent nurtured, with the team of staff ensuring that students of any age are afforded opportunities to develop in an exciting, challenging, and supportive learning environment. With some of the best facilities the Midlands has to offer all nestled in a wonderful location, King Henry VIII School is also visually stunning. From the historic main school building located on Warwick Road that has housed the school since 1885, through to its modern science block and kitted out sixth form centre, all teaching in this environment is done so in well-equipped classrooms. Aside from the building, 25 total acres of land now play host to such facilities as a magnificent swimming pool, a state-of-the-art sports hall, a huge climbing wall, as well as a new double astroturf, netball courts, and rugby pitches. Constant evolution ultimately defines the school’s story, as over the past 450 years or so, it has succeeded in adapting to the world around it so as to provide students with the best education experience possible, all while upholding the legacy of its founding monarch. Approximately 840 students aged 11-18 comprise the co-educational day school offering, but its reach is much bigger than even this, with its facilities being used by other local schools and sports clubs, this in addition to its stellar work through its membership with the Coventry School Foundation and volunteer efforts that are undertaken throughout the city.
