Summer 2018
LUXLIFE MAGAZINE | 7 Summer 2018 designers we work with, often select the rug very early on in their projects, using the natural tones of the vegetable dyes to build the colour pallet for the room.” Crucial to the company’s success, has been the team’s striking ability to put the customer first and cater to all of their needs, whether it be the client or the designer. Going the extra mile for the customer is something that the team strongly believes in, and Paul mentions the attention to detail and client focused approach which the team adopts in order to do this. “For us, the client and designer comes first. If we need to visit a site on a Sunday evening at 8pm, we will be there. Normally we will receive floor plans or photos of the room and go about building a brief from our designer. We then usually share a few images via email of ideas or potential options, then the designer and client will visit one of our extensive stock locations to pick out a selection. Then, we visit the site with several options for each area – and the good news is we do the heavy lifting.” Capitalising on the firm’s sterling reputation, Paul and the team at the London Persian Rug Company have two major aims in mind, including possessing the largest and best selection of handmade luxury oriental carpets, rugs and runners within the UK, and also becoming the first choice for interior designers who want the very best in quality, choice and service. Alongside these aims, there are some crucial factors which separate the company apart from the competition, as Paul explains to us. “Firstly, our collection and quality sets as apart from our competitors, and we are unrivalled in our extensive range of handmade oriental carpets, rugs and runners. Secondly, our service. We understand the pressure on our interior design partners on time, quality, cost and overall delivery, so we do everything we can to make life that little bit easier for them. Lastly, we deliver on site, our lead time can be same day and never, ever let our interior designers down.” Ensuring that the company maintains its success across the industry, Paul is keen to emphasise that the team listens to its partners, and this is a key contributor to the company’s success which has seen it selected in LUX’s 2018 Leading Designers Awards as the Most Outstanding Rug Collection 2018 within the UK. Paul states what this means to the firm currently and moving forwards. “A major part of our success in receiving this award is that we listen to our interior design partners. They know what is hot and what is not, so we listen and learn! Moreover, we are delighted to be selected for this award. It feels amazing to be recognised and even to have been nominated would have been enough but to be awarded, is really special for us. It proves that our hard work for our interior designers really is recognised and appreciated. It is a wonderful accolade and we are incredibly appreciative. The team were completely elated to learn that we had been selected.” Due to the success that the company has achieved, the team at the London Persian Rug Company have subsequently worked with some incredibly high-profile clients. Paul explains what he believes to be the company’s most successful project to date, and what lessons the team learnt from working on this exciting project. “Honestly, I would say that our most successful project was working with Champneys Health Spa in their luxury locations around London. The most important thing to learn is not to lose faith and to support the interiors team at every turn, even if that means 4am trips to the warehouse for the client, then so be it!” Overall, Paul and the team at the London Persian Rug Company are clearly excited about what the future holds for the firm. The industry is evolving at a rapid rate and the company had to overcome some potentially challenging issues, but there were some benefits to these changes as the company became more efficient. “Moving forward, the industry is changing, and fast. Recently, we closed our high street glossy galleries and began working from our stock warehouses. This reduced the cost for our clients, and we were subsequently able to reduce lead time massively. Additionally, we will continue to innovate and use digital investments and intuition to advance a fairly labour-intensive business. “Lastly, we are already working on four different major interior design projects this year, as well as numerous private client projects. One of the most exciting developments is a project for a prominent Middle Eastern family. Most of all, we are extremely excited about the future of the London Persian Rug Company.” Contact: Scott Fleming & Paul Fleming (CEO & Founder) Address: Unit 7, 2 Linford Street, Battersea, SW8 4UP Telephone: 02075561020 Website: www.londonpersianrugcompany.co.uk
