76 Featuring as LUX’s Best Reflexology and Massage Therapist within Alicante, Jackie Canale tells us about her work at the Reiki Room, the clients she works with and the satisfaction she achieves from delivering fantastic results. Working with a varied range of clients at the Reiki Room, Jackie is quick to praise her clients, believing that they are a key contributor to her success, as they help her to enjoy her job. Jackie loves her job so much that she does not consider it to be work, and whilst she sees clients continuously return to have treatments, Jackie will consistently exceed expectations thanks to her skilled offerings. Jackie tells us how it feels to have been selected for this prestigious award, describing what it means to her going forwards. “Here at the Reiki Room, I feel very overwhelmed to have been nominated for this award, but to win it is beyond what I would ever have imagined, and I am extremely grateful. I have always said, in this line of work, you will only be as good as your clients allow you to be, when you manage to build up a clientele with clients visiting you frequently you know you are doing something right.” “Furthermore, I also have my peers to thank for this recognition, and all the team at the International Practitioners of Holistic Medicine for their work ethics, giving me the platform and teaching me how to be that bit different. I am proud to be a member and its on their teachings I base my own professionalism in my work place.” Offering a range of different holistic treatments, Jackie also has her own clinic at home, and she explains more about the treatments that she is able to provide at her home, including; Reflexology treatments, massages ranging from aromatherapy, pregnancy, deep tissue, hot stones and Indian head. “In regard to Aromatherapy, I am an avid fan of the essential oils and their healing properties, and my bookcase is loaded with aromatherapy books. I make massage oil blends to suit each individual client whether they need it for arthritic pain, chronic fatigue, water retention, hormone balance, relaxation etc. Also, I make creams and balms for different skin conditions like eczema, acne, fungal infections and so on. “Moreover, I can offer Reiki treatments, I am Master/Teacher level, I have been asked a few times now to teach, so perhaps it will be something I will investigate in the future. Plus, I offer NLP and Life Coaching within my clinic.” A crucial part of Jackie’s role is that she works in combination with a psychologist when required, working in courses over a short period with clients to ensure the best result is achieved, and it is collaborative teamwork which has been a key aspect of her success, as she is keen to tell us. “In some cases, I work in combined therapies with a psychologist where required, where we work in courses over a short period with the clients, one day with the psychologist, the next with me for a treatment, this is a new therapy here and it is proving to be very successful, we both have the same work ethic, where we want to help the clients and rid their problems completely.” Jackie talks us through the client’s journey when they come to the Reiki Room, and she comments on how she pulls out all the stops to guarantee that they have an enjoyable experience. “Products used in the Reiki Room are all handmade, with love, organic, paraben free, and 100% vegan friendly. I feel this is very important as I have a lot of vegan clients, I feel we are currently experiencing an uprising in people becoming vegan, as much as I am not vegan, I do respect this and I always make sure I follow a vegetarian diet at least three times a week. I aim to always provide the best possible service to my clients by always striving to become better, I offer monthly discounts, write a blog in the local magazine every month to spread the word of holistic in the area and I am flexible with my treatments. Every client is given a consultation on their first visit to me, and always given aftercare advice.” Looking to capitalise on her success, Jackie has big plans for the Reiki Room as she aims to continue to deliver the best results alongside excellent customer service, something she is keen to mention in her concluding comments. “Regarding what the future has instore for the Reiki Room, I will strive to see it grow, and having only been in Alicante for three years, I am blessed to have grown this far in such a short space of time. I have a young family, I work very hard and I will continue to do this. I have been approached by likeminded workers in this field about future possibilities and I will just take it a day at a time and see where it goes.
