We spoke to Lauren herself as we look to find out what attributes the team possesses which have contributed to its success. Lauren starts off the discussion by commenting on what qualities she believes make for excellent design and designers, noting that it takes an ability to listen and gain an understanding of expectations in order to succeed in the sector. “Excellent design is one that reflects the best version and taste of a client via the knowledge and resources of a designer. Essentially, a good designer is one that listens and knows how to make a room smile.” Alongside possessing an ability to understand the requirements of each client, there are many other standout features which differentiate the company from its rivals, as Lauren is keen to point out to us. “Here at Lauren Evans Interiors, we are a boutique firm that offers a one- on-one approach to guiding clients through the entire redesign process. We offer approachable high-end design that includes a mix of old and new pieces as well as a variety of prices points. We work with a lot of families and we believe living comfortably doesn’t mean sacrificing style.” Operating within the interior design industry, the diverse nature of clients that the team comes across means that the team must work hard to adapt to each individual project. Lauren explains what techniques the company employs when working closely with the client to ensure that the desired outcome reached. “Although every project is unique, we follow a systematic process that includes a very transparent set of guidelines based on our contract followed by a series of communicative and collaborative phases to help our clients navigate through the entire design process.” With new trends arising daily, Lauren and her gifted team work hard to create innovative solutions which enables the company to maintain its success within the market. A few projects have stolen more attention than others and I think it has been due to their uniqueness in design, obvious attention to detail, character and liveable luxury. I am very decisive and some of my best work has been conceived spontaneously, but one of the most important lessons I have learned is that it is ok to let decisions marinate before executing a plan. We pride ourselves on being very collaborative and thorough.” In her concluding comments, Lauren predicts what future developments there will be within the market which she and her team will have to adapt to, as well as commenting on her ambitions for Lauren Evans Interiors itself. “Moving forward, I am seeing a lot of designers really honing in on curating formula looks for spaces and providing ecommerce outlets on their websites to achieve these looks instantly. I have a feeling we will be seeing more and more of this in a variety of styles.
