Established as a company in 2006, VOYA’s journey began in in 1912 when the first seaweed baths opened on the wild Atlantic coast of Strandhill, Co.Sligo, Ireland. Seaweed baths have been popular for over 300 years, and VOYA has been working since its inception to harness the natural healing powers of these baths to create skincare and spa ranges that will promote an organic philosophy and provide high quality, truly organic, seaweed- based health and beauty products. To ensure true quality for clients, VOYA products contain as many organic ingredients as possible and the firm voluntarily submits its products to be certified by both the Soil Association COMOS and the Irish Organic Farmers and Growers Association (IOFGA). For a product to be labelled organic 95% of all ingredients must be organic, and the firm is proud of its certification. VOYA is also committed to using only natural and non-toxic ingredients. Central to the firm’s ethos is its focus on sustainability and natural products. As such, its products are packaged using recycled, recyclable or biodegradable materials. All of VOYA’s packaging board is a special blend of FSC certified pulps using its own harvested seaweed and even the packing chips the firm uses to transport products are 100% biodegradable and dissolve in water. The firm is also completely cruelty- free and opposed to testing on animals, ensuring that it is able to align itself with the beliefs of a wide variety of clients.
