Summer 2023

6 | LUXlife Magazine tate-of-the-art LED light therapy is the beauty treatment du jour, with celebrity fans such as Chrissy Teigen, Victoria Beckham, and Kate Hudson, all championing it as their goto choice for red-carpet prep. Whittlebury Park Hotel and Spa has recently announced a very exciting partnership between LED facial pioneers The Light Salon, and ESPA, the natural skincare and luxury beauty brand. The Light Salon’s LED facials are non-abrasive, and ESPA’s formulas are completely natural – combining forces to present exclusive treatments that tackle all kinds of skin concerns was genius. LUXlife has been fortunate enough to sample a few therapy experiences at Whittlebury, and we are thrilled to be able to share our impressions – particularly regarding the new skin rejuvenating procedures. We got to experience the LED Nano-Dermabrasion Treatment, and the Advanced LED Facial Bar Active Nutrients Treatment, both led by Nicole Hanling, who is a knowledgeable ESPA specialist with 10 years of experience. The LED Nano-Dermabrasion Treatment takes place in one of Whittlebury’s treatment rooms, where you’re taken through a journey towards deep relaxation, all while benefiting from the LED technology combined with ESPA’s formulas. Nicole greets her clients then accompanies them to a room already set up with dimmed lighting and calming music. Here you lie on the comfortable bed and instantly feel your muscles begin to relax. Once settled, Nicole starts by placing two of ESPA’s products on the back of her hands and inviting you to smell them to choose which she will use. She then begins cleansing your skin, and prepping it for the nano-dermabrasion pen. This tool is a gentle but effective mechanical exfoliator used to clean and purify the skin for optimal results from the LED mask. Once your pores are open, Nicole places a face mask on your skin for 10 minutes, while she performs a relaxing scalp massage. Next, she applies a hydrogel mask designed to sit underneath the LED mask – this contains a bright orange light, but your eyes adjust to it very quickly. In the meantime, Nicole applies ESPA’s body oil on your arms and neck, and gives you a massage to help you enter a deeper state of relaxation. The LED face mask technology has two different types of LED lights, working to renew the skin at a cellular level, whilst simultaneously the ESPA formulas are working to strengthen the skin’s microbiome. This helps targets uneven skin tone, scarring, dull skin, irritation and redness, wrinkles, and fine lines. After the treatment, your skin will continue improving for a further 2-3 days, and any products you use will absorb more easily and have improved efficacy. The following week, your skin feels wonderfully hydrated and full of life, with any scarring or uneven skin tone having noticeably lessened. If this is what you can expect after one session, just imagine what your results might be after the recommended three.
