This phenomenon started in Asia, made its way through Europe and hit the United States in 2015. Today it is a popular phenomenon, and as such Fox in a Box has devised a premier O.C. We quickly opened a third escape room and a year and a half later in the summer of 2017, we expanded to a total of five different themed rooms to experience. In January 2019, Fox in a Box Huntington Beach will open just on the south side of the 405 freeway in southern Orange County, where we will have six new adventures. “When participating in our adventures, teams are placed in a themed room, armed with nothing but elements of that very room to use in finding clues; solving series of puzzles; and ultimately escaping the Capitalising on the new trend for escape rooms as entertainment, Fox in a Box Orange County is the biggest escape room in Southern California and offers guests a unique experience where they can bond and have fun. We caught up with Owner Amanda Contreras to find out more about this innovative experience and how it caters for the needs of a myriad of guests. At Fox in a Box, you get to experience things most people normally do not usually do on an average day. Guests have a choice of five missions. If saving the world is on their to-do list then they can play the ‘Cold War Bunker’, but if they want to be a villain then they can try robbing the ‘Central Bank’. If they like living on the wild side, then they can try saving the world from a zombie apocalypse in the ‘Zombie Lab’ or escaping from the ‘Zodiac Killer.’ “Larger parties can compete against each other in the Cold War Bunker Head to Head Competition. We can hold up to 30 people and hour, so we are equipped with enough space to entertain large parties every day. We are located right in the heart of Downtown Fullerton where guests are surrounded by amazing restaurants to visit after they have played their games. It is an all-around great experience and day or night out on the town.” Looking ahead, Amanda has always looked at the big picture and only thinks big. She is opening a virtual reality arcade in early 2019 called Freakz VR, Virtual Reality Arcade and will be franchising the opportunity.
