LUX Winter 2018
LUX - Winter 2018 7 Villa Di Geggiano Villa Di Geggiano “I am so proud that Villa Di Geggiano in London,” explains Count Bianchi Bandinelli, “provides a perfect reflection of the magnificent produce that grows so plentifully in Tuscany and is a true gastronomic representation of the region.” Head chef Emanuele Morisi, formerly of Assaggi, heads up the world class kitchen, having been taught to cook by his grandmother as a young boy. His dishes are inspired by the region’s rich and abundant cuisine, with highlights including La Bistecca Alla Fiorentina and Le Salsicce Toscane. Villa di Geggiano is also famed for its selection of fine estate wines, many being sourced from the Bianchi Bandinelli estate in Siena and other neighbouring Tuscan estates. Among the favourites are the rich and intense Geggiaiolo and subtly and balanced Bandinello. The restaurant boasts a romantic terrace, ideally situated for al fresco dining on long summer days and proves a hidden gem amid the bustle of West London. The terrace gives way to the restaurant, where diners are met by an interior embellished by an ever-rotating selection of artists, along with many pieces coming directly from the Villa in Siena. On entering the restaurant, one is greeted by attentive staff and offered an aperitivo in the lounge or bar area. This leads onto the beautiful dining room that boasts a hand-blown lighting by Curiousa and Curiousa which perfectly reflects the colours of the family crest. The dining room has open views to the kitchen and leads to the Gallery which is used for private dining and adorned by beautiful art overlooking the main floor of the restaurant. Villa di Geggiano often hosts music events and art exhibitions in the art room, which doubles up as a slightly less formal dining area and private dining room. Valentine’s Day Amore, it’s a many splendored thing and one that Villa di Geggiano wholeheartedly believe in. They employ this in the creation of their delicious, authentic Tuscan cuisine and the romantic environment in which it is served. Of course, there is no better day to l’amore di Villa di Geggiana than Valentine’s Day. Celebrate this valentine’s Day on Wednesday 14th February treating your loved one to an intimate set menu of five sensuous courses for £89 at the most romantic restaurant in London. Villa Di Geggiano is the authentic taste of Tuscany in London. The elegant restaurant - which is situated in Chiswick - has in recent years become an unofficial outpost of the fabulous 15th century palazzo of the same name in which the aristocratic Bianchi Bandinelli family have lived for almost five hundred years. The original house is encircled by the famous vineyards which produced the first Chianti to be exported to England in 1752.
